You did a very good thing by organizing this festival. You aren’t the first organizer of a small, excellent music festival who had something out of their control disrupt their good work. I am sure the musicians understand and appreciate your efforts. Don’t take it too hard. Keep on keeping on.
This cancellation is such a nightmare. It's obvious that like most people who program really interesting festivals, your motivation was to provide a showcase for colleagues whose work you value. I know most of this music will find other ways out, but I can hardly imagine how hard this news hit.
