Gawd what a cool perk for going on tour! As I was looking at that iconic last photo (gotta be the cover of your next album), it suddenly struck me that Volkswagen was the first company to make a curved roof for a car? My Prius - and many others - has a slope, which I will now eternally credit to the Germans, not the Japanese. But...am I wrong, that before Volkswagen, there were only right angles on cars' exterior designs?
I'm looking forward to the film -- Mark's book was terrific, and I'm happy to see that since the book, he's been recognized as a serious writer about jazz.
Thanks for sharing your photos from the museum. I happen to be reading the 50th anniversary edition of Richard Scarry's Cars and Trucks and Things That Go and had never noticed how much Dingo Dog's sports car resembles a 1955 Corvette. (If you remember that book from your childhood, I recommend checking out the anniversary edition. It's a classic read and now has some nice bonus material.)
