The Piedmont is a spectacularly good place to listen to a great pianist! Took my wife there to hear someone (name forgotten, not a favorite player). Driving home, she told me she now understood why I was less than thrilled with the pianos in jazz clubs, including Kuumbwa, where we heard music before COVID -- the difference jumped out at her non-musician, non-jazz fan ears.
"Modern cars are good at getting one from point A to point B, but these vintage beasts have personality!"
Something similar could be said of the modern vs. vintage jazz musician. Not to dis those working on or rolling off the factory floor of jazz ed, but for all of the improvements of today's player we seem to have lost some individuality along the way.
Lucky you. It's amazing where music will take you!!
Where's he hiding the Edsel?

I dig
That last one's a Fillmore, ain't it? I dig the fins.
I'm not sure what you mean by Fillmore, but I also dig the fins...
Just obscure mental flotsam from the Mothers Fillmore East June 1971. My FZ period.
