TT 308: Bud Powell's "Wail"

Bud Powell’s birthday today...As an experiment, I gave my fingerings to his wonderful but very challenging “Wail” to my NEC students last week. These fingerings are only suggestions, but they work for me. (Due credit to Sophia Rosoff and John Bloomfield.)

“Wail” has long been one of my favorite bop melodies. You’re doing great work in showcasing Bud Powell’s compositions, which are rarely heard and don’t get the credit they deserve.
Cool! Curious to know where this notation comes from - bars 7 and 8 don't sound like what I hear on The Amazing Bud Powell.
