Who wants to hear a trumpet sonata? YES. Look at all those raised hands! Well, the whole thing comes out in a week as part of Playfair Sonatas, but for now, here's the finale, a Rondo with a touch of ragtime. Tim Leopold plays trumpet.
Salon 58 has simply amazing salons of cool music. The views of midtown from a high perch are also breathtaking.
On Sunday November 17, I’ll be at Salon 58 doing the premieres of the Trombone Sonata and the Clarinet Sonata as well as the brand-new and unrecorded Sonata for Piano Four Hands.
These are truly awesome collaborators:
Mike Lormand, trombone
Carol McGonnell, clarinet
Hiroko Sasaki, piano
I’ll also play some jazz; there may be a special guest. (RP get back to me ;-) )
The next night, November 18, I’ll be doing a press event at Yamaha Artist Studios for Playfair Sonatas.
We will be playing the Trombone and Clarinet Sonatas again with Mike and Carol; Piers Playfair, Gene Gaudette, and I will also talk about the project.
This is not open to the general public but any press or booking people that want to come are welcome! Just reply to this email or reach out in other ways. (Jensen Artists is doing PR for Playfair Sonatas.)
