On another note: Every morning before school the Punxsutawney radio station would announce the day's menu at school following this jingle sung by a 40's style chorus:
Hey Mom, when you want to know
what's on the school lunch menu
just relax and don't get nervous hysteria
here's what they're serving today
in the school cafeteria
PS I just googled it: my elementary school was an .8 mile walk from our house, and high school was 2 miles away.
