This week I’m in the New York area doing two cool gigs.
On Thursday April 25 I’ll be at Bar Bayeux in Brooklyn with Adam Kolker, who has put together a fun group with Jeremy Stratton and Colin Stranahan to play standards.
On Friday April 26 I am leading a casual trio with Giuseppe Cucchiara and Rodney Green in Teaneck, New Jersey. Brvsh Cul7ur3 Jazz Club is Rodney’s new spot: Read about it at NorthJersey.com. Rodney is a great drummer, he was Charlie Haden’s choice in the final decade of Quartet West. If you live in the neighborhood, please come out!
Upcoming:
May 3: Trio with Sean Carpio and Jeppe Skovbakke at the Bray Jazz Festival, Ireland.
May 31 – June 1 at the Zellerbach theater for Penn Live Arts in Philadelphia: The Look of Love, an evening of Burt Bacharach, with the Mark Morris Dance Group, choreography by Mark Morris, and music arranged by myself. Star turn from Marcy Harriell, accompanied by Blaire Perrin, Clinton Curtis, Jonathan Finlayson, Simón Willson, and Vinnie Sperrazza.
My old friend Guillermo Resto is currently in a triumphant run of Symphony of Rats, a play by Richard Foreman reimagined by The Wooster Group.
