This week, on Saturday May 4, I’m leading a trio with Sean Carpio and Jeppe Skovbakke at the Bray Jazz Festival. The day after I’m walking as much Irish countryside as I can find…
Upcoming:.
May 31 – June 1 at the Zellerbach theater for Penn Live Arts in Philadelphia: The Look of Love, an evening of Burt Bacharach, with the Mark Morris Dance Group, choreography by Mark Morris, and music arranged by myself. Star turn from Marcy Harriell, accompanied by Blaire Perrin, Clinton Curtis, Jonathan Finlayson, Simón Willson, and Vinnie Sperrazza.
In mid-June the freewheeling group of Bill McHenry, Masa Kamaguchi, Jorge Rossy and myself will be reconvening in Barcelona and a few other cities. More on that soon.
European jazz students may be interested to know that I’ll be on staff for the summer workshop sessions in Langnau and Siena in late July and early August.
Josh Gosfield’s wonderful image for “The End of the Music Business” (my article in The Nation that went viral last April) was chosen by the judges of American Illustration to be included in the next volume.
